Zolnier Road to the Championship: Week 10

by Cameron Irvine

This week, the Fort Worth Toros climbed to the top of the league standings as the only unbeaten to stay that way in Week 9. Let's look at this week's Road to the Championship, presented by Zolnier, of Season 21.

The Baltimore Vultures moved from nine to five with a win over Jacksonville coupled with a Carolina loss to Louisiana. That tumbled the Skyhawks all the way back to 15th in the standings. From division leader one week to under the playoff line the next week, things can shift quickly in the SFL.

Louisiana bettered their playoff chances climbing from 11 to 7 as one of seven teams with a winning record in the league right now. Combined with a Florida loss, Louisiana now trails the Storm for the East crown by just two games. The two teams play in the final week of the regular season.

Portland's huge upset puts them on the Road to the Championship for the first time this season, surging all the way to ninth and is your new leader of the wild card .500 club. Of the Fleet's four victories this season, they've beaten No. 3 Alamo City, No. 11 Las Vegas and division-rival Vancouver, who's just off the graphic at 3-4.

D.C. and Motor City's futures flipped with the Dragons major win on the road in Detroit. The Dragons went from No. 16 to No. 10 in the standings, while the V8s fell from No. 8 to No. 13.

Los Angeles has won two straight, improving to 3-4 - another newcomer this week.
