Two weeks to go: Where SFL Season 26 stands
The Simulation Football League playoff race is coming down to the wire and we've got all the storylines coming down to the wire.
East Division storylines
Detroit stands tall at 8-2 but their lead is not large. They'll welcome 7-3 D.C. into town this week - a win clinches the Maulers an East Division title, a loss brings D.C. to a tie - with a head-to-head win - with Detroit. The Maulers have clinched a first round bye and a first round home playoff game regardless.
Minnesota is now purely in the Wild Card mix. They're strength of victory (SOV) is the lowest of all teams in the top 12 so a win over Lexington on Friday is paramount to their playoff hopes.
South Division storylines
Mexico City has taken command of the South Division, but is off this week. They'll return in Week 15 for their final game against Washington. In the meantime, Houston and Birmingham have opportunities to logjam the Aztecs at the top with wins this week.
Houston faces Bossier City Monday night, a team that beat the HeadHunters in the final regular season game of Season 25. Birmingham's got a trip to Anchorage who is just ahead of the HellHounds in the standings. Neither win is guaranteed.
So what happens if Birmingham, Houston and Mexico City all finish with the same record? They all beat each other, so it would go to division record. Currently, the Hellhounds are 4-1, Houston is 3-1 and Mexico City is 3-1. If nothing is settled there, then we press on with common games and strength of victory calculations.
West Division storylines
Vancouver's got the lead on Anchorage thanks to their head-to-head over the Wolves and has slumping Los Angeles this week, while the Wolves have a tougher test with Birmingham. Arizona and Washington are still in the mix.
So what happens if Vancouver, Anchorage and Washington all finish with the same record? Same as the South, they all beat each other so it would go to division record. Currently, the Wolves are 4-1, Vancouver is 2-2 and Washington is done at 3-3. Vancouver with the H2H over Anchorage would have the inside track there. If Arizona joined the fold? They're 3-2 in division right now with a game against Anchorage in Week 15 remaining.
Albuquerque is making a push, winners of three straight and have their final game of the season this week against a feisty Oklahoma City team that's won two straight.
