SFLm Season 11 Expansion Draft Recap: Welcome to the Chaos

ARTICLE BY ELI DEIOMES [S'cylle Aldmiir] | SFLm Media Director

With the Boston Rebels officially folding and three fresh faces joining the league in the form of the San Diego Aces, Anchorage Wolves, and Birmingham Hellhounds, the SFLm underwent one of the most transformative events in its history: a full-blown expansion draft. Designed to reset the playing field and infuse new energy into the developmental league, the redraft was anything but ordinary.

Chaos reigned as teams juggled limited protections—up to three players, with staff members required to protect themselves if active. The result? Rookies, veterans, and team stalwarts alike were tossed into a massive player pool. What followed was a whirlwind of strategy, emotion, and more than a few surprise picks.

Round-by-Round Highlights

Round 1 - Shockwaves from the Start

Philadelphia Cougars kicked things off with WR Victor Rojas, setting an offensive tone early.

San Diego Aces made a smart defensive grab with CB Andre Brown.

Anchorage Wolves doubled down with Kevin Parker (WR), showing no hesitation in shaping an aggressive identity.

Rounds 2–4 - Building the Core

The influx of rookies became clear as players like Dakota West (QB, Rookie) and Joey Hightower (WR, Rookie) entered the fold.

Returning talents like Jordan Goodman (QB) and Jessy Fretz (HB) balanced the room with experience.

Rounds 5–8 - Value and Vision

Teams filled out depth with promising rookies like Zackary Babineau (OLB) and Paul Sachs (TE).

With 47 players available, defending champions San Jose Flight forfeited their final selection; time will tell if this is a decision they end up regretting later in the season!
