SFL Power Rankings: Storylines Converge
D.C. stumbles in the trap game. Pittsburgh capitalizes against Arizona. Carolina’s late division surge falls short. The playoff roster looks solidified but seeds and byes are still to be fought over. Chicago Warriors. In what is usually the final week of the regular season is now the penultimate week and the drama is just as high. Pittsburgh has two chance to put a stamp on the North crown, Florida is on the cusp of the East, Houston has a shootout ahead for their first South title and Vancouver has only holders Washington to usurp the Western division. Let’s get it started.

voting breakdown
Strength Rating pushing D.C. so far down and the walloping they took vs Sin City and now having them down to 14 makes me very curious as to how they fare in the playoffs. Bossier City has hung around for SR and is now the highest they’ve been this season. What could have been if a few quarters go their way earlier in the season.

#19 Charleston Predators (4-7)
Charleson entered Week 14 needing a win to somehow still be in the hunt as the East tries their hardest to send a team with a winning record to the big dance and unfortunately fell to Fort Worth 45-0. And so, their season effectively comes to an end and then just the other day Jacob Clear has a press release about the Predators ceasing operations at season’s end. A double whammy. A storied franchise that saw multiple renditions from the Red Devils to the Spitfire and then ol’ Alan taking Crash Combs’ Seattle branding before they won their bid and made the Charleston Predators(I’ll never forget this even if the Tyrants branding was some of the best). A silver lining though as Clear has been able to secure a new franchise and get out of the restrictive contract he signed that kept Charleston where they were; never to relocate. I’m happy to see him stay and find new passion in some new digs but if the branding isn’t some sort of phoenix rebirth motif then I think he’s missing an easy opportunity. Pour one out for Charleston and let’s finally move on from the stain Alan left us with.
week 15 premier matchup
#4 Mexico City Aztecs @ #1 Houston Headhunters(-4.5) | O/U 44.5 | Oct. 27th 8:15 PM EST
The game got flexed into Monday Night do you expect the Premier game to be anything else? This has been circled for both teams since Houston started to bowl over any and every team in front of them not named Washington. Mexico City made things a little less interesting when they got blown out by Sin City so now this isn’t the Southern decider that it should be but it will still decide if Houston clinches now or later(or they just absolutely throw the whole thing away and lose out). Houston could easily just blow them out and I don’t think anyone would bat an eye at that result. We could also see the 44.5 total get doubled and have a last drive wins shootout. This is the two time defending champs looking for a better seed to make it three in a row. Unfortunately my vacation starts this week and I’ll be out of town in spotty service for this game but you best believe I will do my best to tune in and the league should be seeing championship numbers in the live view count as the South puts on another top billing.
