SFL Power Rankings: Beginning of Madness
So it took a week longer than I expected but the Atoms have reclaimed the top spot after the Trident were upset by a Toros squad that’s still hanging around after some close losses have them a bit lower here and in the standings. The regular season is steadily marching forward and there is now 10 teams at 6 wins with more possible after this week. Seven wins in the past have usually meant postseason ball but this season it may just be enough to get a look but the resume acceptance rate will be more like an Ivy League than a UCF.

Brett is beginning to believe in Denver; is this when they falter?
downgraded storm
#14 Florida Storm (4-4)
After what looked like business as usual with a 4-1 start to the season the Storm began their run of bye weeks and it may have thrown off their rhythm as they are on a 3 game losing streak and are facing down a .500 or less season. They travel this week to a hot Fort Worth off an upset win over previous #1 Washington as they are also looking to pull away from a .500 season at 5-4. Games against Arizona and Indianapolis afterwards can be spots to gain some win back but to close out vs a top 5 Baltimore squad leaves this week’s game nearly do or die to get to 7 wins and a shot at extra games. Florida is currently just a tropical storm but in a few days they could be picking up some steam into a Cat 2 and beyond.
week 12 premier matchup
#2 Vancouver Legion(-3.5) @ #5 Mexico City Aztecs| O/U 44.5 | MAR. 24th 8:15 PM EDT
The ol’ teacher vs student matchup is always a good one and this season looks to be a real barnburner of a matchup. Both defenses are allowing 2 touchdowns or less in most games this season and the offenses are just as good the other way. This game should be a battle of which offense can break through the other’s defense first but if it ends up being both sides breaking we could be in for a back and forth high stakes shootout that will make the total look like child’s play.
