Quick Reacts from SFLM S11 Week 2

QUICK REACTIONS FROM SFLM S11 ---- WEEK 2

ARTICLE BY J.W HARTSHORN | SFLm Volunteer / San Jose Flight HC

INSANE OFFENSIVE TAKEOVER IN PRIMETIME!

Our Primetime game clearly showed that defense was only a suggestion with the Aces & Cougars combining for a grand total of 879 Yards from both offensive groups; including 725 Yards of Passing alone! PHI's Standout WR Victor Rojas found himself in the trainer's tent after making his first catch of the day, leaving it up to their relatively unheralded WR2, Laddam McBrownsky and company for the rest of the game; "LMB" ended the game with 10 Receptions, 249 Yards, and 3 TDs; an insane performance for a WR who only accounted for 14 Catches, 233 Yards, & 0 TDs TOTAL for the entire Season 10

DEV LB Seth Berlin, originally from the Albuquerque Atoms, was the defensive standout of the game for San Diego; ending the game with 6 Tackles, 1 TFL, and an 73-Yard INT Returned for a TD.

LATE GAME HEROICS GET SJ A BIG WIN!

An early season test for the reigning champion Flight in their Home Opener probably had viewers and coaches reaching for their blood pressure medicine. A pure masterclass under center by both Brady White & Jordan Goodman with some insane passes through impossible spaces and great reads created an incredible offensive showcase (774 Total Offensive Yards).

After San Jose gave up a 20-10 lead at halftime going into the 4th Quarter, the Flight clicked with big plays by their defense not allowing the Hellhounds to put up a single point in the final stanza while Brady White & Rashaun Williams led a big charge toward the end zone down 31-27... Only for the ball to be tipped. 35-Yard FG good by DET Dev Kicker, S'cylle Aldmiir; 31-30.

It came down to Miss Aldmiir's foot as she lined up to kick it Onside... And IT IS RECOVERED BY SAN JOSE!

1:52 left on the clock, on their own 38; A true storybook finish for San Jose as the Flight worked their way down to the 1 Yard Line... And Brady White connects with S10 Star, WR Jamar Shelton for the go-ahead TD with only 0:09 left on the clock!

Gut-wrenching loss for a Hellhounds crew who did nearly everything right; if we find these two fighting for a title in November? I would not be surprised!

THE HEFTY LEFTY OF ALASKA IS A MAGICIAN!

After two incredible offensive showcases, we got ourselves a good ol' fashioned slobber knocker, with a touch of weird !

After a serious injury that took out WR/KR Elliott Pope Jr., a strange miscommunication amongst the Special Team Coaches (or potentially a "Screw It, I'll Do It Myself" mindset) -- The Wolves lined their Placekicker Joe Garfield at Kick Returner; and weirdly enough? He averaged 27 Yards on 2 Return Attempts. I don't recommend it but I tip my cap!

That said, this game was a solid defensive showcase between New York's rookie DC, Iggy Turner & Anchorage's DC (and SFLm Champion coach) Jay Balmer. In a game where NY showcased a stout run defense that held ANC's HB Aunt Tim to 15 Yards on 11 Carries for 0 TDs; a harsh decline from Tim's Week 1 Standout Performance of 26/159/2 against Philly -- It was ultimately the early play of the season candidate by Anchorage Rookie QB Michal Pajak breaking TWO sacks to shoot his shot in the endzone to WR Joey Hightower for the eventual game deciding score.

And that's all he wrote!

Huge thank you to J.W for the breakdown of this week's matchups - there truly were some incredible (and absolutely heart-stopping) moments all around the SFLm this week, and every single team put their all out there on the gridiron for us to see! I don't know about you, but I need a nap after all the excitement (and to find my blood pressure meds, because oh my god ._.)

Join us next week as Anchorage takes on Birmingham, New York takes on Philadelphia, and the two California teams battle it out in a San Jose versus San Diego match that's sure to close the week out strong! See ya on the field! - ED
