Mexico City wins Season 25 Championship!
The Mexico City Aztecs defeated the Vancouver Legion 31-19 to claim the franchise's 3rd Championship and first back-to-back title run!
The Aztecs join Baltimore, Florida and Queen City as the only franchises to have won at least three championships in their history. It was the largest margin of victory in a Championship since Season 21 - the last 10 Championships have been decided by two scores or less. They're the third-straight team to win back-to-back championships after starting a streak (Baltimore 17-20, Florida 21-22).
It was the third-straight title game the team with the worse record in the regular season won it all. For a complete history of SFL Championship Games, click here.
Vancouver made their first Championship appearance after missing the playoffs in Season 23. They improved their win total from five to nine games, the largest jump between seasons in team history. The Legion will try to leave a list next season of nine other franchises that have made a championship but have never won.
Hall-of-Fame Strong Safety Max Jackson was the game's official MVP, racking up 20 total tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack and an interception. He's just the second defensive player to win the game's MVP, joining another Hall-of-Famer Giovanni Bolt - he won it for Baltimore in Season 15.
