Lee scores 3 TDs vs. old team; Arizona stuns Denver

The Canton Classics (4-0) continue to set records in the SFL defensively as they romped to a 37-3 road win at previously unbeaten Vancouver. For the fourth-straight game, the Classics held their opponent under 200 total yards of offense and for the third time, kept them out of the end zone. Halfback Logan Lee rushed for three touchdowns and 114 yards against his former team - on the flip side Vancouver Hall-of-Famer Robert Redford was held to just 12 yards on 13 carries. Canton faces D.C. (3-0) in two weeks following a Week 5 bye.

In Phoenix, the Arizona Scorpions needed every second to top the Denver Nightwings at home, scoring a game-winning touchdown on the game's final play to win 21-20. With the triumph coupled with Tulsa's 44-17 loss to Seattle, the Scorpions take the lead in the Central Division. Mike Churchill caught two touchdown passes, including the game winner. Denver led 20-7 at the half, but was blanked in the second. Arizona linebacker Sean Moore led all players with 14 solo tackles.

Speaking of Tulsa, the Desperados held a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, but surrendered 44 points the next 30 minutes in their first loss of the season. Seattle quarterback Ty Ptak threw for 247 yards and ran for another 38 yards in a strong performance. The SFL's leading receiver coming into the week, Gabriel Manning did cobble together 179 yards on 9 receptions, but two of those were Hail Mary's caught at the end of each half. League-leading rusher Phoenix Jones was held to just 39 yards on 13 carries.

The Motor City V8's had just 57 rushing yards before running for 57 yards on their game-winning drive that finished with a touchdown pass from rookie King Jackson to tight end Azami Mihata, helping Motor City to a 17-13 triumph over Charleston to keep the Predators surprisingly winless. Tauraneo Rivera had his first 100-yard rushing game in the 4k23 era (22 car, 110 yds) and Jackson threw no interceptions in a steady 10/14 performance.

Friday night, Fort Worth romped to a 34-6 win over Houston and Queen City won a nailbiter 14-7 over Indianapolis. Marcus Dunhill turned in a QBR of 126.6 in the Toros win keeping a clean sheet in the interceptions department while throwing for three touchdowns. JZ Bacon ran for 138 yards in the win. The Corsairs also got strong quarterback play from Eric Price (QBR: 102.7) staying pick-less and tossing a touchdown in the QCC home-opener win. Tight end James Matthew Jr. caught 12 balls for 147 yards.
